Saturday got off to a great start with Listed success for Mr Lupton. He sat just behind the leaders under Jack Garritty as they set a strong pace. He took up the lead a furlong from home and stayed on well under pressure to win by a head for owner Noel Kershaw.

We double up at York with Northwest Frontier in the stayers’ hurdle to hand him his third win since April. He sat behind the leaders and was always travelling strongly. He lead two furlongs from home and was well in command towards the finish. He stayed on to win by three-quarters-of-a-length for owner Sir Robert Ogden.

Gabrial the Devil gave Dr Marwan Koukash another winner at Chester. He tracked the leaders under Connor Murtagh and had the lead approaching the final furlong. He stayed on gamely to win by a neck.
