Dan Troop is a really nice horse and he notched up his fourth win of the season at Chester. He tracked the leaders under apprentice jockey Connor Murtagh. He took up the lead approaching the final furlong and probably got a little lonely out in front. The fast finishing King’s Pavilion reduced his lead but he stayed on to win by half-a-length.
Heatongrad had to overcome a difficult to draw but he showed a great attitude to win at Musselburgh. He bounced out of the stalls and was always prominent under Tony Hamilton. He had the lead two furlongs from home and held on gamely to win by a neck.
