Thursday was a fantastic day with four winners and it really feels like the season has finally started. Maybride kicked things off impressively at Newmarket. The daughter of Mayson is a lovely filly and it was great her to see her win so well for Cheveley Park Stud. She tracked the leader under Oisin Murphy and had the lead two-furlongs from home. She stayed on impressively to win by two-lengths.

Crownthorpe then won the Cock O The North Handicap at Ripon. He’s a really big horse and one we’re excited about this season. He tracked the leaders under Paul Hanagan and was switched outside to get a run approaching the final two furlongs. He was challenged but stayed on powerfully over the final furlong to win by two-and-a-half-lengths for the Richard Fahey Ebor Racing Club.

We then had an impressive double at Newcastle. Sabre made a fantastic start to his career winning on debut despite running into all sorts of trouble in running. He was held up towards the back of the field by Tony Hamilton but started to make headway halfway. He got stopped in running several times but when he finally got some daylight he powered to the front to get up and win by three-lengths. He was extremely impressive and one to look forward to for owners Kenneth and Janis Macpherson.

Odds On Oli finally got his head in front and won by the biggest margin of all our runners – five lengths! He was always in touch and when Tony asked him for an effort he pulled clear of his rivals for owners Mike Brown and Dee Howe.
