RIBCHESTER BREAKS ROYAL ASCOT TRACK RECORD

Ribchester is now the best miler in the world after winning the Group One Queen Anne Stakes at Royal Ascot. He had been the short priced favourite for the race since winning the Lockinge at Newbury and it was fantastic to see him win again in such great style. Drawn one Richard was worried the runners may bounce out and race on the stand side so we sent our pacemaker Toscanini off at blistering speed down the centre of the track under Paul Hanagan. They raced down the middle and Ribchester settled nicely under William Buick. Ribchester took up the lead in the final furlong and although he did hang left he showed that brilliant turn of foot to win by a length-and-a-quarter. He broke the track record and confirmed that he goes on any ground.

William Buick loves the horse and was delighted with the performance as was owner Sheikh Mohammed.

He now has a couple of options the Sussex Stakes at Goodwood or the race he won in France last year. They are just 10 days apart so we will get him home and make a plan.

A big thank you is needed to John Murphy who rides Ribchetser every day. He has been instrumental in helping him to settle. Everyone at Musley Bank has done a fantastic job with all our horses and lets hope for many more winners.
