There were two striking displays at Nottingham. First was the two-year-old Great Prospector. He’s a horse we like and we were surprised he was sent off such a big price. The Elzaam colt was held up towards the rear of the field by Paul Hanagan and made headway approaching the final furlong. When he hit the front he pulled clear to win by a dominant two-lengths for owners Mr and Mrs Cotton.
George Bowen then powered to victory winning by four-and-a-half-lengths in the class 3 Handicap. To say he’s been frustrating would be an understatement so to see him win so well was fantastic. Owner Mick Scaife has had to be so patient and George finally repaid him.
