Coolagh Forest was very consistent as a two-year-old and he got his three-year-old off to the best start winning at Musselburgh. He tracked the leaders and had work to do approaching the final furlong. He was switched left under Paul Hanagan and showed a determined attitude to run down the leader and get up and win by a neck for owner Alan Harte.

Ventura Gold made all under apprentice Sean Davis to win for the second time this month. Sean was also onboard for his win at Leicester and they’ve struck up a good partnership. Ventura Gold showed a brilliant attitude when headed in the final furlong to find that bit more and get up on the line to win by a neck. There were plenty of Middleham Park owners there to welcome them back.
