Brian The Snail won on both of his starts last season and was bought by Godolphin at the end of last year. He’s been doing really well at home and Richard was keen to get a run into him and so we headed to Pontefract. He was sent off the 6 to 5 favourite and William Buick was in the saddle. He tracked the leaders on the inside and was always travelling strongly. He was switched to the right heading into the final two furlongs and pulled clear of the rest of the field to win by one-and-three-quarter-lengths. Richard was really happy with his performance and the Commonwealth Cup at Ascot is now in his mind.
