A WEEKEND 3YO DOUBLE

Another weekend brought another double for the yard as Hartswood won on Saturday at York while Lexington Warfare broke his maiden at Wolverhampton on Sunday.

Hartswood improved from his first start of 2020 to win at York on Saturday by one-and-a-quarter-lengths under a strong ride from jockey Paddy Mathers. Settled in a prominent position just behind the leaders he was asked for an effort with two furlongs to go and soon took the lead. He kept on well to record an impressive victory and in process giving the yard a first and second in the race. Congratulations to owners the Percy Green 2 Racing Syndicate.

Lexington Warfare finally broke his maiden at the ninth time of asking just holding on under a well judged ride by jockey Tony Hamilton. Settled at the rear of the field he was switched out to the right and asked for an effort with just over one furlong to go. He made some good headway and managed take a lead he wouldn’t surrender with 110 yards to go, just holding on to win by a short head. Congratulations to owners to Middleham Park Racing.
