We had three winners on Friday, across three different tracks with three different jockeys for three different owners. First up was Wootton Vale who secured his first win of his career. He has been a bit disappointing and was sent off at 20 to 1. He tracked the leaders under jockey Raul Da Silva and took up the lead inside the final furlong. When he hit the front he stayed on and grabbed victory by a short head for owners John Nicholls and David Kilburn. Hopefully that will have given him a lot of confidence.
Next was an impressive debut by Belle Meade at Pontefract for owners Merchants and Missionaries. The Roderic O’Connor filly was held up behind the leaders by jockey Tony Hamilton. They went second over the final two furlongs and when they hit the front they stretched clear and eased down to win by a length-and-a-half from our other runner Right Action. The first two home were 9 lengths clear of the rest of the field and look two nice two-year-olds.
Our third and final winner was Royal Connoisseur at Hamilton. The five-year-old made all under jockey Adam McNamara and never looked liked getting caught. He won by an impressive three-lengths to secure his second win of the season.
