Spring Offensive won his second race of the season taking the feature at Ripon in determined style. He was given a positive ride by apprentice jockey Adam McNamara and was always in touch of the leaders. He was pushed over the final furlong and when he hit the front he showed a fantastic attitude to win by a neck.

It was a great start to the week with a treble at Pontefract. We won the opening two races on the card and then the lucky last. Springwood had learnt a lot from his run the Brocklesby and knew his job this time out. He tracked the leaders under Tony Hamilton and started to make an impression inside the final furlong. He stayed on impressively in the testing ground to win by a neck for the Richard Fahey Ebor Racing Club.

Spring Offensive is another horse that doesn’t mind the soft ground. He was always travelling well and started to make a move two furlongs from home. He took up the lead and did hang badly right in the home straight, finishing the race on the stand rail. He had enough in hand though to win by a length and a half. He did unship apprentice jockey Adam McNamara just after the winning post as he tried to get get off the racecourse only to be stopped by a shut gate. Adam wasn’t hurt and we think Spring Offensive was just in a rush to get to the winners enclosure!

Arcano Gold was our final winner of the day. This was the four-year-olds second run back after 216 days away from the track. He tracked the leaders and took up the lead inside the final furlong. He ran on strongly to win by one and a half lengths for Middleham Park Racing. It also gave Tony Hamilton a double on the card.
