Requinto Dawn won his second race in a row at Southwell on Sunday under a great ride from apprentice jockey Connor Murtagh. Always chasing the leaders Requinto was pushed along two furlongs out. He was ridden a furlong out, and kept on well to take a lead he wouldn’t surrender inside the final 110 yards, winning by three quarters of a length. Huge congratulations to owners The Phoenix Racing C O & Partner.

Requinto Dawn continued his recent good form by winning his second race in four starts at Wolverhampton on Sunday. Settled just in behind and always chasing the leaders, he took the lead two furlongs out. He was ridden and despite hanging left from over a furlong out, he kept on to score by half-a-length under jockey Billy Garritty. Congratulations to owners The Phoenix Racing C O & Partner.

Paul Hanagan continued his fine form in the saddle by riding a double for us at Southwell on Monday, partnering Requinto Dawn to his first victory for two years and then following up by guiding Lexi The One to her first career victory.

Settled close up Requinto Dawn began to make headway and started challenging two furlongs out. He was then ridden to lead over a furlong out and kept on strongly inside final furlong to score by half-a-length. Congratulations to owners to The Phoenix Racing C O Partnership.

Lexi The One finally broke her maiden at the fifteenth time by winning in convincing fashion by five-and-a-half lengths.Β  She was settled close up and led over 2f out. She was then ridden with just over a furlong to go and went clear inside the final furlong. She kept on strongly to record a very comfortable win. Congratulations to owner Dr Marwan Koukash.

It’s been another fantastic start to the season and to see Requinto Dawn bring up our 50th winner was brilliant. He made all under Paul Hanagan and showed a great attitude when pressed over the final furlong. He stayed on resolutely to win by three-quarters-of-a-length for the Phoenix Racing CO.

It’s always great to have a winner on the opening day of the season but it was even better to have our first two-year-old winner. Requinto Dawn was a horse that showed early promise and he didn’t disappoint us. He was held up just behind the leaders by jockey Tony Hamilton and always looked to be travelling well. He made headway entering the final furlong and pulled clear under hands and heels to win by two-and-a-quarter lengths. A great start to the season for owners The Phoenix Racing CO.
