COSMIC LAW IMPRESSIVE IN WOODCOTE

Cosmic Law was sent off at 10 to 1 for the Woodcote Stake at Epsom despite winning at Carlisle last time out. He was always prominent under jockey P J MacDonald and took the lead inside the final two furlongs. He stayed on really strongly to win by an impressive six lengths for owner John Dance. He now looks likely to head to the Coventry at Royal Ascot.

Private Matter then won at Catterick for the Richard Fahey Ebor Racing Club. He was always in touch under jockey Barry McHugh and they started to challenge approaching the final furlong. He hit the front and stayed on to win by three-quarters-of-a-length.

LISTED SUCCESS FOR MAYON’S PRIVATE MATTER

We had a great result over in France with Private Matter winning the Lister race at Maisons-Laffitte. The son of Mayson was always prominent under jockey Olivier Peslier. He moved well in the soft ground and always looked to be travelling better than his rivals. He had the lead over the final two furlongs and never looked like being caught. He stayed on to win by a length-and-a-half, a great result for Cheveley Park Stud. We had two other runners in the race for Nick Bradley Racing, Vona finished third and Megan Lily fourth.

MAYSON WINNER AS PRIVATE MATTER IMPRESSES

We had to put a line through Private Matter‘s first run at Wetherby as he ran out of the bend and we knew he was capable of good things and he showed it at Nottingham. He took up the lead under Tony Hamilton and having the rail to race against helped him. He was always travelling the best and they easily pulled clear of the rest of the field. They won by six lengths under hands and heels, giving Mayson his fifth winner of the season.
