WINS FOR NORMANDIE LADY & OUR KID

Normandie Lady won the feature at Nottingham in impressive style. She tracked the leaders in third under jockey Paul Hanagan and when he asked her to pick up approaching the final furlong she obliged. She pulled clear of her rivals to win by three-and-three-quarter lengths. A great result for owner and breeder Mr Phipps.

Our good record of first-time-out two-year-olds continued at Wolverhampton with Our Kid wining for The Market Men. TheΒ Elnadim colt was always in touch under jockey Tony Hamilton. They were third two furlongs from home and took up the lead inside the final furlong. They kept on strongly to win by three-quarters-of-a-length.

SATURDAY WINNERS: SHOWBIZZY AND NORMANDIE LADY

Showbizzy has been very disappointing this season, she hasn’t looked like she wanted to race but having said that the Class 5 Handicap at Doncaster was the kind of race she should be winning and so we were delighted to see her do it so well. We put a visor on her for the first time and it made a difference. She was always prominent under jockey George Chaloner and when he asked her to pick up she immediately responded. She had the lead heading into the final furlong and stayed on strongly to win by two-and-a-quarter-lengths. Well done to the Racegoers Club Owners Group who have had to be patient.

We then doubled up with Normandie Lady at Hamilton. The three-year-old was held up in mid division by jockey David Nolan. They made headway over a furlong out and took up the lead inside the final furlong. They kept on to win by a length-and-a-half, securingΒ her second win in five starts for owner Mr Phipps.

FILLIES STEAL CATTERICK SHOW

We had another good day at a Yorkshire track with a double at Catterick. Normandie Lady won well on just her second start. She was held up in mid division by jockey Tony Hamilton and they started to move through the field two furlongs from home. She took up the lead inside the final furlong and pulled clear to win by two-and-three-quarter lengths.

Footlight then made it a double for the fillies winning her second race in three starts. She has a good relationship with apprentice jockey Adam McNamara and they made virtually all the running. They stayed on impressively to win by three-and-a-half lengths.
