Island Flame powered home to win at Newcastle to secure her third victory of the season. She was a little bit keen and was held up in touch by jockey Paddy Mathers. They started to make a move over the final two furlongs and hunted down the leader All The Rage. They flew down the outside and got up to win by a head for owners Northumbria Leisure Ltd.
Island Flame made it two wins from three starts this season with victory at Doncaster. She was sent off the outsider of the field and she can be a bit quirky. She was held up last of the four runners by jockey Paddy Mathers and they made good headway two furlongs from home. She took up the lead and despite hanging left stayed on to win by six lengths.
Sanaadh won the opening race on the card at Thirsk under jockey David Nolan. This was only her third start and she was held up behind the leaders before making a challenge inside the final furlong. She took up the lead and stayed on strongly to win by a neck for owner Jaber Abdullah.
We followed up that win with Island Flame, Robert Winston in the saddle this time. The three-year-old was held up towards the back of the field and looked to have a lot to do. She started to make ground two furlongs from home and battled for the lead inside the final furlong. She stayed on to win by a length-and-a-quarter for owners Northumbria Leisure Ltd.
