FIREWATER WINS IN THE SCOTTISH MUD

Firewater got his first win of the season up at Ayr on Thursday, scoring by three quarters of a length under a determined ride by apprentice jockey Billy Garritty. He was settled close up and asking for an effort to chase down the leader over three furlongs out. Despite losing second over two furlongs out he soon rallied and took a lead he wouldn’t surrender inside the final furlong. Congratulations to owner breeders Norman and Helen Steel.

FIREWATER WINS AT NOTTINGHAM

It was nice to see Firewater get his head back in front at Nottingham. He tracked the leader under Tony Hamilton and made headway over two furlongs out. He chased down the leader over the final furlong and battled well to get up on the line to win by a head. A good result for owners Norman and Helen Steel.

WINS FOR FIREWATER & BILLY BOND

We doubled up at Ayr with Firewater and Billy Bond. Firewater picked up the first win of her career in the opener. She pressed the leader under Tony Hamilton and was driven to lead over the final two furlongs. She drew clear inside the final furlong and stayed on strongly to win by two-and-a-half-lengths for owners Norman and Helen Steel.

Apprentice Russel Harris then rode his first winner for us onboard Billy Bond. He was awkwardly away and sat at the rear of the field. He made headway three furlongs from home and was always travelling strongly. He led approaching the final furlong and stayed on impressively to win by three-and-three-quarter-lengths.
