It was fantastic to see Exhort get the listed success she deserved in the Pipalong Stakes at Pontefract. The Dutch Art-filly has been super consistent and she replayed Cheveley Park’s patience with a great run. She was held up towards the rear of the field by jockey Paul Hanagan. She tried to make headway over the final two furlongs but didn’t get a clear run. She was switched right and ran on really strongly to chase down the leaders and get up to win by three-quarters-of-a-length.

We had another excellent Saturday with a five-timer. Powerallied got things started at Chester for Dr Marwan Koukash. He had to take the long way round under Connor Murtagh travelling wide. He stayed on well when challenged inside the final furlong and held on to win by a neck.

Lucky Lucky Man handed apprentice Oakley Brown and The Musley Bank Partnership another winner, and then Jack Garritty guided Billy Bond to success. He was held up towards the rear and started to challenge over the final two furlongs. He took up the lead and held on gamely to win by a head.

We also had a double to York. Exhort has been ultra consistent and it was great to see her get her head in front for her fourth career win. She was held up towards the rear by jockey Tony Hamilton. She didn’t have much room approaching the final furlong and was switched left to get some room. She showed a great attitude when headed to get up on the line and win by three-quarters-of-a-length for Cheveley Park Stud.

Society Queen then gave Norman and Helen Steel another winner. She was held up by Tony and started to challenge inside the final two furlongs. She pulled clear to win by one-and-a-quarter-lengths.

Exhort is a very consistent filly, she’s only been unplaced on two of her eight starts and she won again at Ayr. She tracked the leaders under David Nolan and she didn’t get the clearest of runs. She challenged over the final two furlongs and soon had the lead. She stayed on strongly to win by three-quarters-of-a-length for Cheveley Park Stud.

Exhort followed up on her win at Haydock with another solid performance at Thirsk. She sat just behind the leader under jockey Paul Hanagan and was made to work for her victory by 66 to 1 shot Gamesters Icon. Exhort showed a good battling attitude to get up and win by a neck to hand Cheveley Park Stud their 32nd winner of the season.

Exhort ran a great race to finish second on her debut at Doncaster and unsurprisingly she was sent off the odds on favourite at Haydock. She tracked the leaders and was shaken up for an effort by jockey Paul Hanagan two furlongs from home. She took up the lead heading into the final furlong and stayed on well to win by three-quarters-of-a-length. A fantastic result for owner and breeder Cheveley Park Stud.

Things had got off to a good start earlier in the day when Flo’s Melody won at Wolverhampton. She made all under Tony Hamilton and won by one and three-quarters-of-a-length. Owners Middleham Park Racing also had a second with Prying Pandora and a third with Tatlisu at Newmarket.
