Dawn Mirage won the feature on the card at Beverley the Wilford Watts Memorial Handicap. The four-year-old has finished third on her first two starts this season and she travelled brilliantly under Tony Hamilton making most of the running. She quickened over the final two furlongs and stayed on strongly to win by two lengths for owners Merchants and Missionaries.

Melesina won her maiden in the next race on the card for Nick Bradley Racing. Tony was once again in the saddle and she was soon the clear leader. The Dark Angel filly was challenged in the final furlong by Miss Bates and showed a great attitude to win by a neck.
