Monday was a successful day for the yard as we registered an across the card treble with In Paradise and Alben Spirit winning at Leicester and Gallipoli winning for the third time this year at Chester.

In Paradise was the first winner of the day breaking her maiden at the third time of asking under a good ride from Paddy Mathers. Despite an awkward start she was settled in touch at the rear of the field. With two furlongs to go she began to make headway around the outside and was soon in a position to challenge. She was ridden into the final furlong and kept on well to score by a head. Congratulations to owners Cheveley Park Stud.

Alben Spirit made it a double on the day for ourselves and jockey Paddy Mathers winning well by one-and-a-half-lengths. He was always settled in a prominent position and looked a real danger with a furlong to go. Entering the final 110 yards he began to assert and made sure he secured the second win of his career. Congratulations to owners  J K Shannon & M A Scaife.

Gallipoli continued his good form in 2020 by winning his third race of the year, in doing this he completed the Monday treble for us. Settled in midfield he began to make headway two furlongs out and before long he was challenging the long time leader Gabrial The Saint. He took the lead inside the final furlong and although he was bumped he powered on to record a good three-quarters-of-a-length victory. Congratulations to his owner Peter Timmins.

Alben Star loves winning on Championship Finals Day at Lingfield. He won the sprint in 2014 on the first ever Good Friday meeting, he was second last year and he won again yesterday. There was a fast pace and Alben was held up by jockey David Nolan in the middle of the field. He challenged inside the final furlong and produced a devastating turn of foot to power clear and win by two-and-a-quarter lengths.

It was another great day for owners Mick Scaife and Kenny Shannon, they picked up £93,375 in prize money and Alben Star’s career earnings now total upwards of £310,000.
